Get Your Hands Dirty (In a Good Way) and Eat Well
"Raising sheep gives us a genuine connection to the land and a heartfelt appreciation for how our food comes to be. There’s something truly special about knowing the care and respect invested in every animal, and the pride that comes from offering wholesome, responsibly raised meat to others. It’s more than just farming—it’s about nourishing our neighbors, preserving the integrity of our resources, and celebrating the simple joy of good, honest food."

Our Farm Philosophy
Raising sheep takes dedication—long days, hard work, and always planning ahead to make it through another season. There’s hay to put up, grain to bring in, and then comes lambing time.
Forty days of broken sleep, exhaustion setting in, and the question creeping in: “Why do we do this?” But then, at feeding time, you watch the lambs racing and playing, full of life. An old pet ewe wanders up, nudging for a scratch, and in that quiet moment, you remember—this is why.

The Farm
Mike and I have been raising high-quality rams for breeding stock. Since 1993, Belgian Hill Sheep has provided other producers with strong, reliable genetics. Every year, we also feed out and process a few lambs for our own table—it’s a good feeling knowing exactly where your meat comes from.
Sheep have a way of getting into your heart. It’s a lot of work, and some days are tough—blizzards, frozen water troughs, and long hours—but we wouldn’t trade it for anything.
